Introduction

This is version 0.7.5
Attach to email is a servicemenu for KDE that works in conjunction with a Python script that acts as a sort of wrapper around common email clients.
NOTE: Almost all of the translations need to be updated! If you want to translate this program, use the file attach-to-email.po as a template.

How to Install

  1. tar -jxf attach-to-email-servicemenu.tar.bz2
  2. cd attach-to-email-servicemenu
  3. ./install.sh --remove-old
  4. ./install.sh [--global-install|--local-install]

How to configure KDE to use KMail

  1. In the Control Center, expand KDE Components, then select Component Chooser.
  2. Select Use KMail as preferred email client.

How to configure KDE for non-KMail email clients

  1. In the Control Center, expand KDE Components, then select Component Chooser.
  2. Select Email Client.
  3. Select Use a different email client.
  4. In the text field, enter the appropriate command line path and options for your client (hover over the field for details.)
    5. Some common configurations are:
    Evolution: evolution mailto:%t?subject=%s\&attach=%A
    Sylpheed: sylpheed --compose %t --attach %A
    Mozilla: mozilla --compose attachment=%A
    Thunderbird (only works if Thunderbird is already running): thunderbird -remote "xfeDoCommand(composeMessage,attachment='file://%A')"
